CHOMMIES x Arrange Studio for Cape Town Furniture Week: Reflecting on a Morning of Play
For Cape Town Furniture Week, CHOMMIES collaborated with Arrange Studio to bring an experience of play to life. Arrange Studio popped up in our showroom for CTFW, creating a dynamic space that celebrated creativity and interaction. As part of this collaboration, we also designed a limited-edition tray together, blending artistic expression with functional design.
With Cape Town buzzing from both Investec Cape Town Art Fair and Cape Town Furniture Week, we saw an opportunity to merge creativity and curiosity. In collaboration with Arrange Studio, we hosted a morning dedicated to the theme of "Play," an event that invited guests to pause, engage, and embrace the joy of experimentation.
A Space for Playful Exploration
Play is often dismissed as unproductive, yet some of history’s greatest minds saw it differently. Einstein called it "the highest form of research," and Plato believed it revealed more about a person than years of conversation. Inspired by this philosophy, we crafted an experience that encouraged exploration, connection, and discovery—both for our guests and their four-legged companions.
Highlights from the Day
A Collaborative Creation: Together with Arrange Studio, we designed a special tray that was available for viewing, blending artistic expression with functional design.
A Cake Worth Talking About: Mondvol Soet served an exquisite four-tiered cake that was as playful in its aesthetic as it was delicious.
A Guided Play Session: Mirjam from Studio Muse led guests through a meditative play activity, further proving that moments of play sparks creativity.
Dogs at Play: Because what’s a morning of joy without a few wagging tails?
